Year-end is a very busy but rewarding time in the development department!

Did you know that a third of all charitable giving in America happens in the month of December, with nearly 12% of it in the last 3 days of the year?

We are hard at work making sure to reach out to our supporters at this time of year, not just to welcome their year-end giving but to thank them for their generosity and faithfulness!

Also of note, the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act offers new provisions for charitable giving in 2020. If a donor makes a $300 gift to a qualified charitable organization, their adjusted gross income (AGI) will be reduced by up to $300. Please see your tax advisor for additional information.

FOUNDERS CIRCLE

The Founder’s Circle has officially exceeded its annual goal! Our amazing and dedicated committee of 9 volunteers met the program’s highest goal to date, and did it earlier in the year than ever before.

Founders Circle is our major giving program, which recognizes annual gifts starting at $1,500 within a calendar year. This is the backbone of our unrestricted giving, and the members of this program are faithful friends who are committed to our mission.

YEAR-END APPEAL

Our biggest direct-mail appeal of the year is out the door! Funds raised from this year’s letter will support our Resident Financial Assistance program, enabling us to provide dignified, quality care to qualified residents who have outlived their resources.

COMMUNICATIONS

Last month, you received our annual holiday season card, and our fall newsletter, The Messenger, which included the Annual Financial Report for 2019 and a recap of this unique year at Monte Vista Grove.

Our Board of Trustees and some development volunteers are busy calling almost 200 donors, just to personally thank them for their support this year.
